F95 Zone Melody – A Game Review

The F95 Zone, a new online strategy game, is definitely not for the child in us. It’s so much more than that. The developers at Big Fish, the makers of the F95Zony, did their best to make the game both challenging and engaging, but with a bit of cheek. You play as a grown-up, seeking revenge on a group of bullies who have targeted your neighborhood. You traverse a series of obstacles, ranging from jungle gyms, to underground pipes, to the beach and back, all the while leveling up and earning cash and rewards. There are enough different elements to keep you interested in completing the quests and to challenge your reflexes, but at the same time, the game allows you to escape into a world of your own making.

The premise behind the game is a mystery that will leave you scratching your head. But fear not, because the F95 Zone is here to save the day. The F95 Zone, or rather its resident fountains, have appeared to take over Summerland and have created a crime wave of sorts. However, with the help of your newly purchased BatMobile (the coolest mobile robot ever), you must take on the bad guys and return Summerland to normal before time.

The story behind the game is quite simple and yet still manages to be engrossing. You have this very cute and mischievous robot as your playable character who is always trying to get into trouble. He has the ability to shrink down, so that he can go virtually undetected. When he shrinks down he leaves footprints all over the place, which is why he’s always trying to get into trouble. He also commands a group of bumbling kids whom we are quick to laugh at.

As I mentioned, the storyline is confusing at first, but soon you’ll pick it up. There are a couple of different elements to the game. The first is the main storyline, which is to follow a series of events as they unfold. The other element is the ‘enchanted object’ mini-games, which are really silly. However, I do enjoy them, despite their presence being completely unnecessary to the game.

You take on the task of defending yourself from the evil clutches of Doctor Drakken and his army of Drakken’s Shredders. These guys are all bent on taking over Summerland by any means necessary. First they want to take over your home, then they want to takeover your newspaper store. And finally, they’re after your child… who happens to be the last person in town with a real human child in it. Don’t let these guys scare you, as they aren’t as challenging as some of the others.

In the game itself, you take on the role of Drakken, and it’s up to you to stop the bad guys before they strike. Each level is a new one, so there isn’t much left to learn. Once you’ve played enough levels, you’ll earn the privilege to download your finished levels onto your Wii. If you’re not familiar with the game, don’t worry. Most people who pick up F95 Zone Melody will have no problem playing through the first few levels.

The story is very entertaining. It’s full of funny scenes, and really brings out the comedy side of the game. The cut-scenes are extremely well animated, and they show Drakken’s true voice. He makes every line matter, and they all make you laugh.

When you finally reach the end, you’ll be rewarded with yet another bonus game. These are known as the ‘Mazes’. You have to complete all five of them to unlock your goal. They are fun, and add some extra challenge to the game. The bonus level is definitely worth the price of admission alone, but if you want to get the ultimate game for free, I’d recommend checking out F95Zoon melody. It’s definitely worth a look.
